
I’ve always been a big fan of columnist Cathy Babao Guballa, whom I first met almost 8 years ago when I was doing PR work for Manulife Philippines.
At the time, Cathy was busy with her charity work for Migi’s Corner Foundation, which she formed in memory of her son Migi who died of congenital heart disease when he was four. Manulife was one of many sponsors who gave books, toys, and furniture to furnish the 13 playrooms that Cathy set up in government hospitals all over the country, including Philippine Heart Center, East Avenue Medical Center, Davao Medical Center, and Philippine General Hospital.

To the former president Corazon Aquino, who gave us back the freedom we now enjoy, thank you for making us proud to be Pinoy.
