    Hey Ariel A.,
It’s been a long time since Santa rolled down the barrel for Mount Apo. Oh boy, haven’t heard you for eons, only to catch your thread at PinoyCentric. This is a great place to be.

A very cohesive and expansive website. It has interesting topics and the people featured are worth looking into. The photo gallery put a smile on my face and reminded me that it is just a click away from home. The other photos “Kumusta na?” gave me another wake up call. Great Job to the people behind this informative website; not only for Filipinos but for the whole world

    KUDOS!

This is what it’s all about- Real Filipinos, doing real things for a better world. Thanks guys!

Enough excuses. Enough apologies. We’re all tired of those…

Thanks for making this site. Thanks for reminding us that there is so much to discover and embrace about ourselves, our people, our land. So many of us need to remember.

We have to stop playing the role of victim in the universal cosmic karma of things. Let’s get over the ‘we are so kawawa, and we will always need others to save us’ mentality. Sites like yours are definitely the way.

I believe that ours is an excellent race! We are such noble, hardworking, kind, friendly, inventive, lovable people(I think anyone involved in this site can vouch for it). Don’t let anyone forget -Brown is definitely beautiful!

    Thanks again. :)

But ba kinailangan natin gumamit ng salita kung ang salita na’to ay ikaw lang marahil ang nakaka-intindi?

    Why not speak tagalog instead?

Kaya tuloy lagi na lang nag-aaway mga politician natin ay dahil ‘ndi sila magka-intindihan.

    Nice site… Good luck!

I am part Tingguian (from father) and part Ivatan (from mother) and was born and raised in Hawaii. At the young age of xx, I am just beginning to realize my cultural wealth. Since childhood, I have been interested in all things relating to art. I call them my MAD muses: Music, Art & Dance. I know they are a part of me through gifts of grandparents and great grandparents in the Philippines through the beginning of time to the source…God. It’s nice to see Filipinos all over the world live with a sense of passion through your Web site. Thank you for the articles… God Bless you all

Palawan Environmental has been struggling with the plight of the Tagbanwa (indigenous tribes of Palawan) for some time and issues of cultural revitalization vs limited resources spent on purely humanitarian assistance marks every day. Our conclusion has become, that the survival of the culture requires survival of the people and to this end we've turned our attention to social entrepreneurial models, and instead of writhing with purist idealism we've learned to deal with the, far to often, insidious influence of ethno- or tribal-tourism" forming it into the vital means of cultural revitalization in the face of deescalation. This issue is indeed controversial and compromising of traditional separatist philosophies, however when managed effectively tourism can, in some circumstances, become the only means of survival and among many groups of Tagbanwa this approach can work. Cultural traditions can otherwise be lost to desperate, devastating poverty, as well the environments that have spawned the cultures in question, so, rather than watch destruction we build the infrastructure for unobtrusive cultural revival and the infusion of tourism becomes the means of survival.

The reality of a shrinking and changing world influences everybody, every culture, no matter how reclusive or remote, and the trick is finding a healthy, respectful transitional culture, a synthesized cultural tradition that nurtures the appreciation of a growing global comunity… The Tagbanwa Culture is not entirely lost but it is dying and there are no incentives to finding both preservation and prosperity but through sharing. Changes are inevitable in our shrinking world and cultural growth, traditional practices and refinements are essential for the maintenance and enhancement of ethnic identity. While achieving that delicate balance between culturally-sensitive humanitarian-intervention and the intrusions of globalization we practice mutual respect and intervene the wages of ignorance and exploitation with the means of prosperity. It seems that after a break, this site has started up again. I am glad for that. I have also started a site with a Pinoy theme: celebrating and promoting the musicians of Dumaguete City and Negros. DumagueteMusic.com has a growing collection of videos of live music. Maybe 1/3 are Tagalog. Welcome back PinoyCentric!
