World Vision International, a  Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization dedicated to overcoming poverty and injustice, has found a new champion for the Pinoy child.

Its newest spokesperson, singer Reymond Sajor, is a champion in every sense of the word:  Reymond was named the Grand Champion Solo Vocalist at the 2007 World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood.

Reymond will singing at the “I’ll Be There: A World Vision Concert” at the Music Museum on June 27, 2009, 7:30 p.m. and hopes that lending his voice to this advocacy will attract World Vision sponsors who can help send poor Filipino children to school.

World Vision hopes to sign up 7,000 new sponsors this year. In the Philippines, the nonprofit organization is sending some 122,000 children to school. A donor can provide for the education of a World Vision kid with a monthly pledge of P600.

The “I’ll Be There” concert–named after Reymond’s newest single of the same title,  composed by Filipino-American songwriter Richie LaPaz–will feature songs that have inspired Reymond’s journey as an artist and will have Gerard Salonga as musical director and the CompanY as special guest.

Reymond joins a prestigious list of World Vision endorsers, including Miriam Quiambao, Karen Davila, Nikki Gil, Christian Bautista, Sam Concepcion, Sam Milby, Lea Salonga, and Christine and Julius Babao. Other avid World Vision supporters are Beverly Salviejo, Eula Valdez, Kris Aquino, Ruffa, Richard and Raymond Gutierrez, Charice Pempengco, and Cesar Montano.

Tickets for “I’ll Be There: A World Vision Concert” cost P500 and P1,000.  To purchase, call (+632) 557 9283, (+63908) 881 5694, (+63917) 473 9227 or call Ticket World at (+632) 891 9999 or Music Museum at (+632) 721 6726 and 721 0635.
