Inside the Hop-on Hop-off jeepney: A videoke provides entertainment to tourists stuck in traffic.

The Hop-on Hop-off tourist service takes visitors on a tour of Manila’s not-to-miss sights on a 21-seat air-conditioned jeepney, one of the Philippines’ most popular icons.

Accredited by the Department of Tourism, the Hop-on Hop-off offers two packages: a cultural heritage tour of Manila and a shopping and leisure activity in Makati. The unique thing about this tourist service is the videoke, which provides entertainment to passengers who are stuck in traffic.

The cultural heritage package, at P1,700 (US$41) per person, is a six-hour tour of Manila that takes the passenger through the SM Mall of Asia, Coconut Palace, Fort Santiago, San Agustin Museum, Orchidarium, and the National Museum. The fee includes a la carte lunch at Barbara’s Restaurant, tour guide services, bottled water or soda, and entrance fees to the establishments mentioned.

The shopping and leisure tour introduces the tourist to Makati’s Central Business District and includes shopping centers Ayala Center Greenbelt and Glorietta in the itinerary.

For both packages, the tour starts at the Intercontinental Manila.

Tickets to the Hop-on Hop-off are available at hotel kiosks. The travel service is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays to Sundays.
