After winning as Overall Junior Grand Champion of the World at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood last August, there’s no stopping 12-year-old singer and actress Aria Clemente from making a name for herself in local show business.
Aria is currently taping for ABS-CBN’s upcoming comedy series Pare Koy, which stars veteran actors Dennis Padilla and Techie Agbayani, Zanjoe Marudo, and John Pratts (who plays Aria’s eldest brother in the show). Directed by Randy Santiago, the show is aired weekdays in the afternoon.
She has also recorded a single for Kris Aquino’s Love and Inspiration album, which follows the platinum Songs of Healing released some months ago. Produced by Ito Rapadas with vocal coaching from Carlo Orosa, Aria’s version of “Climb Every Mountain” is a fresh attack on a classic piece from the hit Broadway musical The Sound of Music.
The young singing champ was also part of the successful Manila run of off-Broadway hit musical, Children’s Letters to God.
Moreover, Aria has been tapped to sign a multimedia co-management deal with Viva Entertainment, which is interested in honing her as the next TV, film, and recording star. Kids Bayo, Aria’s clothing sponsor, is also eyeing her for possible endorsement deals.
Aria, with 2007 WCOPA Grand Champion Senior Vocalist of the World Reymond Sajor, was a main performers at the formal launch of the Philippines’ largest convention center, SM Group’s SMX Convention Center strategically located at the Mall of Asia complex.
