Three Filipino painters will be showcasing their masterpieces in an art exhibit in Singapore this September, proving that art knows no boundaries and that the Pinoy artist can make it globally.
CCP Thirteen Artists awardees Elmer Borlongan, Jose Santos III, and Mark Justiniani are among those part of “Beyond Borders,” which will open at the Art Space, Royal Plaza on Scotts on September 28, Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Organized by the Art Sentral Asia and Beaux-Artz, the show also features artists from India and Indonesia, among them Sajid Imao, Chandrahas Y.J. Shiv Verma, Kurmi Ranjut Singh, Agung Yuwono, and I Ketut Mara.
Zambales-based Borlongan is known for his trademark elongated figures and his realistic scenes which depict everyday urban life. Santos’ works traverse the realms of the personal and the mythical. Justiniani, now living in Los Angeles, is one of the Philippines’ talented surrealists.
Beyond Borders will run from September 27 to October 28.
