Though she taught at the College of Accountancy and Commerce, she is an icon in the entire university. Seriously, I feel a bit uneasy with the answer in No. 5. It is just a little bit "judgemental". But nevertheless, there is a grain of salt in what you have said. Filipinos migrate no longer to study, have their vacation, but to work. I cannot enumerate the reasons of OFWs why they go abroad to work because this space might not be enough. But we always learn from them--there are no opportunities here. In our profession alone (meaning Psych), we can never practise being a psychologist in the country. Until now wala pa ding board exam which could give us the license to practice. But when you go to the US and practice as a psychologist, wow! Big bucks! Sayang, Hazel, hindi mo naabutan si Señora Muy Mal ng Spanish class. Filipinos need a model so that we will move towards a change for the country. If the elected officials are not doing what is expected of them- serving for the greater good then this only promotes mass exodus of Filipinos to have better lives in other countries. Change happens within ourselves, yes but leaders should make the biggest change. "Crabs in a barrel mentality and Corruption must stop".
