“SEVEN DAYS IN ILOCOS NORTE,” which opens on July 25 at the National Press Club in Intramuros, Manila, showcases images taken from May 20 to 26, when seven photojournalists went off to Ilocos Norte for some R&R. The group was composed of photojournalists Edwin Bacasmas (Philippine Daily Inquirer), Sonny Camarillo (Philippine Free Press), Sonny Espiritu (Manila Standard Today), Revoli S. Cortez (The Freeman/EPA), Manny Marcelo and Andy Zapata (Philippine Star), Egay Montana (Office of the Vice President), and freelancer Jonathan Sulit. The exhibit includes 75 images printed on 4×5-foot special canvas, mounted on marine plywood for all-weather exposure. A simultaneous showing in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, will also be held. “Seven Days in Ilocos Norte” is meant to promote tourism and raise funds for the welfare of members of the Press Photographers of the Philippines and their families. The show’s sponsors include the following: Department of Tourism,Trans-Manila Inc., Gov. Michael Keon of Ilocos Norte, Office of the Press Secretary, PAGCOR, Philip Morris, Ford Philippines, and Fort Ilocandia.
