In a narrow alley at the side of Worldwide Plaza at Central in Hong Kong, tired Filipinos rushing home at the end of the day can buy dinner for HK$20 (roughly PhP140 pesos) from a canteen that serves authentic Pinoy cuisine. Called Little Quiapo, the place is anything but the Quiapo that we know back home, but it’s a reminder of everything in Pinas that expats hold dear.

But if you’d rather not have a taste of canteen food, there’s a Jollibee right beside Little Quiapo. The food tastes as real as it is back home, I found out, and it feels like home too, with fellow Pinoys elbowing you into the corner in this cramped joint.

Haha, it was really cool to have met you here Karla. :) As said, Hong Kong is not the lonely place it appears to be, especially when you find yourself among very friendly pinoys around Central. Good luck in your further travels, and I’ll be reading on as a new expat convert to your site. Cheers!
