PinoyCentric pal Tammy David writes about yesterday’s post on the New York Times Sunday magazine article that featured Filipino migrant workers and their plight:
I was fortunate to spend almost a week with Mr. Jason DeParle (as his fixer/translator) and the Portugana/Comodas family last December. It was heartbreaking to translate about a dozen OFW stories. The experience made my christmas in 2006 extra special.

All Things Brown and Beautiful
this is such a great article, i was surprised at how jason deparle was able to get a grasp and feel of the emotional hardship of those people. i think tammy david did a great job assisting mr deparle, kudos to her and i hope more articles should be written about pinoy OFW’s. Matagal na dapat na magkaroon nang sariling organization and mga OFW para ma protektahan nila ang kapakanan nila, pero ewan ko ba bakit hanggang ngayon wala pa.
